Just hours after our full and second session campers departed, forty sets of fathers and sons descended upon Camp Manitou for a weekend of activity, frolic and bonding.
The festivities kicked off with extended free play. Waterskiing, canoeing, swimming, basketball, climbing tower, mountain biking and batting cages were amongst the most popular activities. A sunset waterfront BBQ ensued (steak and asian pork, of course), followed by a raucous evening at the Manitou Casino and a waterfront campfire.
Day 2 continued the theme of father-son activities, sunshine and tasty meals. Several dads completed island swims with their kids spotting in kayaks. Lobsters and more steak highlighted the dinner. Giffords and a second campfire capped the day.
Sunday’s rain did little to deter many of the dads from continuing their immersion into the glory that is Manitou. Saying “a good time was had by all” would be an understatement.
