Manitou Camps Foundation Sponsors 260 Campers in 2011

The Manitou Camps Foundation has gained a lot of momentum since it began offering camperships to underserved youth three years ago.

This year, 260 kids were given the opportunity to experience the best of Manitou, from College League to Steve Hirsch Night to hot afternoons at the waterfront.

The Seed School in Washington D.C. returned for a second year, this time bringing the girls, who set up camp next door at Camp Eastwood for a week of performing arts infused with leadership sessions.

Manitou Experience benefitted from a high return rate, both with campers and staff, and the response was overwhelmingly positive as our veteran campers continue to develop close bonds and set the tone for new campers.

Summer Dreams rallied after a hurricane delay shortened the week, and under the inspiring leadership of the Boston public school educators, they packed a full week of fun and personal growth into the time they had at camp.

All programs look forward to long partnerships with Camp Manitou and the people who help create these opportunities.
