Founded in 1947, Manitou has evolved from a camp 60 campers, all from Newton, Mass. to one that serves 300 boys a session, coming from 23 states and 7 countries.
Under the current leadership of two former bunkmates, Manitou has stayed true to the principals and traditions of its founding family while upgrading the facility, diversifying the program and expanding its service.

This past fall, Manitou’s 64 year history was featured in the Maine Youth Camping Associations Fall Newsletter. The article can be found through the link on our Blog right here: MYCA Article
