While the main summer session of Manitou has concluded, camp is still buzzing with excitement as the Manitou Camps Foundation begins two weeks of programs. The Manitou Experience camp enters year 2 and the group has 54 campers and 52 staff volunteers. The program is roughly double in size from last year, and includes all but 2 campers from last year plus all but 3 volunteers from last year; the energy and enthusiasm is tremendous!
The Manitou Camps Foundation provides comprehensive bereavement services for children, teens and families through a one-week summer camp, Manitou Experience, and year-round support groups, Jeff’s Place. The programs help build confidence, encourage laughter, and navigate grief through friendship, teamwork, activities, and the common bond of loss.
Some of the activities the kids enjoy are College League, instructionals and many fun evening activities.
